Lindsey Vonn Foundation Partners With Utah Royals Women's Soccer Team

Celebrating Community, Giving Back, and Women's Sports

SANDY, UTAH On Saturday, March 16, 2024, the Utah Royals Women's Soccer Team kicked off their home opener at America First Field.

In front of a sold-out crowd of over 20,000, the Royals battled it out against the Chicago Red Stars. In a fierce fight between the West and Midwest, the final score came down to 2-0 in favor of the Red Stars.

At half-time, LVF scholars Emily Grace, Sofia Leveratto, and Devin Hendrix were recognized on the field to announce the Foundation's partnership with the Royals. In collaboration with the team, the Foundation will be donating 25 tickets every home game to girls from underserved communities.

"It's an honor to support [this team] as an owner! But honestly, I like the term investor better, because I love investing in women and my biggest goal is to empower them and the next generation," said Lindsey Vonn, founder of the Lindsey Vonn Foundation and new part-owner of the Royals.

This game marked just the beginning of the Utah Royals' impact on their community and the greater women's sports community as a whole. In a report from NBC News, women's sports are estimated to rake in more than $1 billion for the first time in 2024, up 300% since 2021.

Fans, supporters, investors, and athletes in women's sports have made one thing clear: their passion, excellence, and dedication are here to stay. Vonn said it best: Women in sports is a movement, not a moment!
